Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) September 08, 2014

With districts across the country transitioning to digital learning resources, administrators and educators are looking for content that will align to Common Core and state standards while advancing their districts overall digital strategy. Knovation, the leader in advanced personalized learning solutions, releases results of its 2014 National Digital Content & Curriculum Survey, which outlines the attributes of a K-12 digital curriculum strategy that are most important to educators.

The National Digital Content & Curriculum Survey, which compiled insights from 141 educators and administrators across 31 states, features information for districts on the selection, quality and rigor, organization and most important attributes of digital learning resources. Key implications for districts include:

Selection: A school districts priorities should drive the selection of digital resources. Educators want to provide content that directly aligns with district initiatives, curriculum and state and Common Core standards.
Quality and Rigor: Ease of use is a top priority as districts select digital resources. If teachers cannot access and use a product easily and on a daily basis, the effectiveness of the digital resource is diminished.
Organization: Districts need to implement products that provide high-quality digital resources that are aligned to the standards and curriculum documents they are using. This personalized learning approach tailors the content to meet the different learning needs of students.
Attributes of Learning Objects: Digital content must provide both remediation and enrichment opportunities for students by embedding formative assessment within the learning resources. This assists teachers in implementing resources in classroom settings and matching them to the individual needs of each learner.

Priorities and initiatives vary from district to district, but all place a strong reliance on state and Common Core standards when selecting digital resources for their curriculum, said Joe Grieshop, president and managing officer at Knovation. Its important to partner with an organization that has strong correlations between standards and digital resources. More important is finding a partner that can customize the alignments to district-specific curriculum so teachers can easily implement the digital resources in their daily classroom instruction.

All participants that completed the survey were involved in selecting and implementing digital resources within their district and/or developing their districts curriculum strategy. To view the complete survey results, visit http://www.knovationlearning.com/digital-curriculum-survey.
